How to Create a Custom Extensions Set.
OS 7.5x
- Click Apple Menu, select Control Panels then
Extensions Manager.
- In the upper right corner beside "Sets" click on the
down arrow and select Save Set.
- Type in the name for the set and click OK.
- In the upper right corner beside "Sets" click on the
down arrow and select System Software Only. Then scroll through the list
and click any necessary extensions so that a check mark is beside it.
- Click the Close button in the top left or select File,
Close Window from the Main Menu.
- Select Special, Restart from the Main Menu.
- To return to previous extensions set, Start Extensions
Manager, and select the saved extension set from the drop down list.
OS 7.6
- Click the Apple Menu, select Control Panels the
Extensions Manager.
- Click the Duplicate Set button.
- Type in a name for the set and click OK
- Select View, By Folders from the Menu.
- Scroll down to the Extensions folder. Click the blue
arrow to the right of the Extensions to show all extensions if they are
not visible.
- Check on or off any extensions you wish.
- You will be prompted that you are changing a "Read
Only Extensions Set" and "Do you wish to make a copy?" Choose Yes and
name the copied Set.
- Click the Restart button.
- To go back to the original extensions set select
"Sets" at the top and select the original extensions set.
OS 8.1
- Click the Apple Menu, select Control Panels, then
Extensions Manager.
- Click the Duplicate Set button.
- Type in a name for the set and click OK.
- Select View, By Folders from the menu.
- Scroll down to the Extensions folder. Click the blue
arrows to the right of Extensions to show all extensions if they are not
visible.
- Check on or off any extensions you wish.
- You will be informed that "The set "Mac OS 8.1 all"
can't be changed", and that "Extensions Manager can make a duplicate."
Select Yes, and name the duplicate set.
- Click the Restart button.
- To go back to the original extension set select "Sets"
at the top and select the original extensions set.
